Pitching the Dream (DOT Engagement & Ocular Visits)

That dream I had walking back from Tabing Bisay and Ariada Falls wasn't just a fleeting thought. As soon as I got back, I drafted an email to the Bataan Tourism office. This was the moment the outdoor adventure officially turned into a mission for the community.
This is the fourth of a five-part series documenting that journey from discovering hidden trails alongside local Aeta tribes to the exciting, upcoming official launch of Limay’s additional eco-tourism destinations.

Beyond the Industrial Image:
I wrote an email to the Bataan Tourism office pitching my idea of officially opening the outdoor spots situated within Limay. We had a face-to-face meeting with two of my friends where I presented the three waterfalls and the potential of Mt. Cuyapo as a tourist destination. After the meeting, Dr. Danica Lolita Tigas-Rodriguez suggested engaging directly with Limay Tourism about the proposal. Since Limay is known as an industrial site, it would be a brilliant initiative to have an outdoor tourism site.

Together with Kervy and Carl, we presented an official briefing to DOT Bataan Head Dr. Danica Tigas-Rodriguez.

Bringing the Office to the Trail:
I was able to get in touch with Limay Tourism Officer, Arthur Quezon, and presented the proposal. But we couldn't just talk about it in an office, we then did an ocular visit of the three waterfalls. Showing him, the actual beauty of the trails and cascades proved the true potential of the area, and we eventually scheduled a meeting with Municipality of Limay Officials.

DOT Limay Visit
The Mayor's Blessing:
After a few months of preparation, I was able to present to the Limay Tourism, Vice Mayor, and Mayor about the proposed initiative. Sharing this master plan was the climax of all my hard work. We were able to get their blessing to continue building the documentation to officially open the tourism sites!
